about
On a fall evening at Hotel Colfax, John Singer and Stacy K sat at an old, out of tune piano for one of their many writing sessions. Starting with a few written lines and a vision, Stacy K rambled on about what she saw in her head, while Singer rapidly typed away on his typewriter. As the wind howled through the window panes, the marriage of visionary and wordsmith brought along the song Coming to Take Him Away. Later presented to the rest of the band, it ultimately made the cut for BSE's never released second album.
lyrics
Hello Mother, hello Father,
hello Sister, goodbye Brother.
Where you going? Where you been?
I been standing in the doorway,
I been looking at the fields.
See that spider from the hill side,
is at my heels.
They're coming to take him away.
They're coming down the gravel driveway.
They're coming to take him away.
Say hello to the arachnids,
climbing up past my knees.
Brush him off ever gently into the breeze.
I turn around to see my father,
And I gaze into his eyes,
Speak softly and tread lightly,
on this thin ice.
They're coming to take him away.
They're coming down the gravel driveway.
They're coming to take him away.
They're coming to take him away.
They're coming down the gravel driveway.
They're coming to take him away.
Will I see him again?
They're coming to take him away.
They're coming down the gravel driveway.
They're coming to take him away.
